How will the course help you?
Discover how to reflect on and explore issues in your teaching context, plan and carry out a small-scale classroom research project and communicate your findings effectively.
What does the course include?
Classroom research is a free, self-study training course, which is divided into three-hour modules. It also includes:
- A dedicated Facebook community of course participants with up-to-date insight, resources and innovative ideas for you to try out.
- Engaging discussions taking place in the Facebook community
- Live events with your course tutor and language teaching experts
- A free workbook with extra learning content and resources.
What will you learn?
- Engaging with classroom research
This module looks at the skills and abilities you need for carrying out classroom research. You'll also look at how you can collaborate with others while doing classroom-based research, and some of the benefits of collaboration and sharing.
- Planning the research process
This module looks at formulating your classroom research questions and how you can create tools to collect data from your classroom. You'll also be looking at planning your classroom research, the ethics involved and how to make sure you have any necessary consent for your research.
- Integrating classroom research
This module looks at the process of analysing research data and drawing conclusions from it to help you identify classroom actions or changes you’d like to make.
When is the course?
TeachingEnglish: Classroom research will open from 1 April-24 June 2025. Enrolment will open soon.
How much does the course cost?
The course is free.
How can you get a certificate?
You will receive a certificate if you successfully complete all self-study modules.
What level of English do you need?
Minimum CEFR B1
