What are the self-study modules in Project-based learning?
- Module 1 – Understanding thinking skills
The aim of this module is to explore what thinking skills are and why they're relevant to learners and look at ways that you can encourage using them in the classroom. You'll also get an overview of 21st-century skills and their importance for learners today. You will identify and define thinking skills, apply thinking-skills approaches in different classroom activities as well as analyse activities for developing 21st-century skills.
- Module 2 – Project methodology
The aim of this module is to identify the elements and stages of successful projects through evaluation of real classroom examples. You’ll evaluate project-based learning and assess whether it’s appropriate for your context and learn to apply project-based learning principles to your lessons. You’ll also design your own project for your context.
- Module 3 – Assessing projects
The aim of this module is to learn how to assess projects effectively. You’ll learn how to differentiate between assessment of, for and as learning in projects, design and use rubrics and other assessment tools and provide meaningful feedback at different stages of a project.
