Teaching speaking skills – webinars

Watch the recordings of two webinars full of tips and practical activities to help your learners develop their spoken English.

About this event

This was the third in our series of webinars on the English language and how to teach it, with two expert teachers presenting practical ideas for improving your learners’ spoken English. The first session explored how using AI and activities involving emotional intelligence development can boost speaking in class. The second session showed you how to design speaking activities that move beyond memorised answers towards meaningful communication. Watch the recordings of the sessions and download the handouts below. The live event took place on September 18, 2026.

About the sessions

Session 1: Using AI and emotional intelligence strategies to help learners speak

Speaker

Feruz Akbarov

How can AI help our learners overcome speaking anxiety and communicate with confidence? This interactive webinar examines just this, the powerful intersection of artificial intelligence and emotional intelligence in ELT speaking instruction. You’ll learn strategies for integrating tools such as automated speech feedback and AI chatbots while keeping empathy, motivation and human connection at the heart of your lessons. Watch the recording to find out how blending tech with emotional awareness can boost your learners’ fluency and communicative competence.

Please help me to learning English skills

Hi!
Here at TeachingEnglish we don't offer English language classes for learners. You can explore the free resources on the LearnEnglish website, or search for a local teaching centre near you.

It was a completely outstanding session.

I am very pleased to begin the Teaching for Success course. I look forward to exploring new teaching strategies, gaining practical insights, and further developing my professional skills. I am confident that this course will support my growth as an effective and successful teacher.

I personally will not be able to attend these great webinars due to the timing. As I am a Algerian Muslim teacher, I have to go to mosque every Friday to do our weekly prayers. And It takes more than an 90 minutes starting from Mid day. I can watch them ( the webinars) on YouTube or on Facebook after it ends, as it's written above, but still attending them, participating , getting the answer from experts to some of your questions will be much better. Thank you so much after all. I really appreciate your time and efforts .
