Understanding Pronunciation is a three-hour self-study training module, which is divided into three one-hour units. 

By the end of Unit 1, explain the key concepts used in describing the different elements of pronunciation and recognise sounds and phonemes, with the help of the British Council's phonemic chart.

By the end of Unit 2, you'll be able to explain the key concept of word stress, and relate that knowledge to your classroom teaching.

By the end of Unit 3, you'll be able to explain the key concepts of connected speech and intonation, and relate that knowledge to the teaching of pronunciation.
