About this training module

Engaging with vocabulary teaching is a three-hour self-study training module, which is divided into three one-hour units.

The aim of this module is to explore ways of presenting new vocabulary in the classroom. The module considers what is involved in learning new words, how to select words to teach, and a range of methods and techniques for presenting vocabulary that take into account an inclusive multi-sensory approach.

By the end of unit 1, you'll be able to describe the aspects of vocabulary that the learners need to know and choose the vocabulary to teach which is appropriate to learners' needs.

By the end of unit 2, you'll be able to evaluate a range of methods and techniques for presenting vocabulary and use further techniques to express meaning.

By the end of unit 3, you'll be able to evaluate a range of methods and techniques for presenting vocabulary.

Certificates

For participants who successfully complete all tasks and achieve a score of 70% or above in the online exercises, there will be a downloadable certificate of completion at the end of each module.
