About this training module

There are a seemingly limitless number of websites out there that have potential benefits for language teaching and learning. In order to maximise these potential benefits, you need to be able to evaluate and select websites effectively. You also need to be able to use web-based resources in a way that's natural, relevant and effective. Evaluating and integrating website is a three-hour online self-study module divided into three units.

This module provides you with the tools you need to evaluate and select websites to use in your teaching. It also gives you practical suggestions for integrating the web in your classroom.

By the end of the first unit, you'll be able to describe how web addresses are formed and how this can help you in your teaching. You will also be able to list a set of criteria to evaluate websites and use this to evaluate and select suitable websites for teaching and learning.

By the end of the second unit, you'll be able to integrate websites into your teaching and critically evaluate activities based on the web.

By the end of the third unit, you'll be able to design web-based lessons to suit the needs of the learners you teach.

Certificates

For participants who successfully complete all tasks and achieve a score of 70% or above in the online exercises, there will be a downloadable certificate of completion at the end of each module.
