This activity is designed to be used as a warmer for Intermediate level learners. It could be used to generate interest in amazing facts as a lead in to a lesson using comparatives and superlatives.
This activity practices learners' listening and speaking skills. They first listen to a description of two images and then they analyse the language used and try to use it to describe some different pictures. The activity takes a similar format to that used in many speaking exams. The images used are those of Viennese migrants, all of whom run specialist businesses. The activity is based on themes and images from the OPENCities project.
In this lesson for secondary and adult learners at CEFR Level B1, students will learn about four popular summer festivals in Britain and will invent and present a festival.
In this lesson students take part in a visualisation activity before reading, listening to and discussing passages from Dickens' work. This lesson is also designed to be used by teacher trainers to focus on teaching receptive skills.
