Language and social cohesion in the developing world

This book was published jointly by the British Council and GIZ Sri Lanka and edited by Hywel Coleman. It looks at the role of language in social cohesion in many parts of the world, including India, Nepal, Pakistan, the Philippines, Rwanda, Tanzania and Timor Leste, while six chapters deal with the specific case of Sri Lanka. The volume makes a significant contribution to the important and ever-growing field of language and development.
