Affricate

These sounds are articulated at the same point in the mouth.

Example
The /tʃ/ (as in "church") and /dʒ/ (as in "joy") consonant sounds are affricates.

In the classroom
The affricate sounds in English are common in other languages and relatively easy to produce for many learners.
