Understanding how teachers learn
Understanding how teachers learn is one of the professional practices in the British Council's teacher educator framework. It involves demonstrating familiarity with a range of sources, resources, opportunities, key research and current theories and practice of adult learning/teacher education in order to make decisions about teacher learning. It involves making decisions about teacher learning by applying understanding of a variety of adult learner characteristics. It also involves demonstrating familiarity with a range of needs analysis tools in order to support teacher learning, and researching and reflecting on your understanding of how teachers learn.
