Contributing to the profession

Contributing to the profession is one of the professional practices in the British Council's teacher educator framework. It involves sharing practices and experiences with other teacher educators, including through social media and creating and supporting teacher communities of practice. It also includes conducting small-scale research (individually and collaboratively) and sharing the results with other professionals. Organising and contributing to professional events, discussions, articles and associations, including online and through social media are an important aspect of this practice as well as displaying attitudes and behaviour that promote trust, respect, professional identity, motivation, agency, well-being and resilience.
