About the speakers
Fatiha Najma Yustisia is an English teacher at a private secondary school in Indonesia. She has been teaching English in various contexts since 2018 and has taught general English to teenagers, English for specific purposes and exam preparation classes. She is currently building her own private language institution focusing on exam preparation courses. Besides teaching she often speaks publicly about youth empowerment. Fatiha spoke about social emotional learning (SEL) at our World Teachers' Day conference in 2023. Download her handout.
Huma Hasna Riaz Ahmed is a teacher, teacher educator, and classroom researcher with over 20 years of experience across India, the UAE, and the UK, including 16 years with the British Council. She currently teaches in the UAE and delivers training online. Her work focuses on inclusive and reflective practice that empowers both students and teachers as agents of change. She carries out classroom research on plurilingual pedagogy. She’s a current tutor for TeachingEnglish’s Courses for Teachers Facebook group.
Zaineb Shebani is a teacher and teacher educator from Libya with over 20 years of experience. She currently works as a moderator and teacher educator for the British Council, supporting teachers across the MENA region in their professional development. Passionate about empowering teachers and fostering engaging, learner-centred classrooms, she is dedicated to helping educators grow and inspire their students. She’s a current tutor for TeachingEnglish’s Courses for Teachers Facebook group.
