Creative lesson planning

How can we keep our learners inspired? These webinars explore how to plan creative classes that capture learners' imaginations and channel their creativity. Our first session focuses on integrating climate themes into classes using the arts – visual, songs, poetry and dance.  We explore practical activities that promote awareness of the current climate crisis and inspire learners to take action. In the next session, you learn how the power of storytelling can inspire creativity and support language learning. Finally, expert teachers from around the world share their ideas for how to make your English classes more creative.

About the sessions

Session 1: How storytelling transforms learning

Speaker

Claudia Tumba

Session information

In this webinar, we explore how storytelling can transform our teaching and inspire our learners. Together, we break down the storytelling process into three practical steps: pre-story, during-story and post-story activities. I share how we can build excitement, keep learners involved and explore creative writing, role playing and personalised projects that encourage learners to create their own stories. We discuss strategies for teaching vocabulary, differentiation and inclusion. By the end of this session you will have  practical tools to turn your learners into engaged listeners and confident storytellers who can create their own books.
