What are the self-study modules in Feedback and error correction?

Module 1 – Understanding error correction

The aim of this module is to consider why learners make errors and how to deal with them in the classroom. You will define your beliefs about error correction, make decisions about when to correct or not as well as compare different error-correction techniques.

Module 2 – Understanding feedback

The aim of this module is to look at how to make feedback effective and what effect feedback has on learning and learners. You will describe why feedback is important, identify features of constructive feedback as well as give effective feedback on writing tasks.

Module 3 – Engaging with feedback and error correction

In this module, you'll explore how to effectively apply feedback and error correction techniques. This module focuses on practical tools and strategies tailored to diverse learner needs. You’ll explore when and how to correct errors, how to deliver feedback constructively, and how to adapt approaches based on context, proficiency level, and learning goals.
