By the end of Digital competences for teaching English, you'll be able to:

What are the self-study modules?

Module 1 Teaching with digital resources

The aim of this module is to guide you through the main issues involved in teaching with digital resources. You'll evaluate a range of ways to implement digital technologies to support language learning, consider how digital tools support and enhance collaborative learning as well as review a range of digital tools and resources that encourage and support independent learning.

Module 2  Formative assessment and feedback

The aim of this module is to guide you through the main issues involved in carrying out formative assessment and giving effective feedback. You'll consider how digital tools and resources can support formative assessment, review strategies for analysing evidence of learning using appropriate digital tools as well as review a range of digital tools that support teachers in collecting and analysing feedback from their learners. 

Module 3  Professional engagement and development

This module will guide you through the use of digital tools and resources in supporting a range of professional duties and responsibilities beyond the classroom. You’ll explore the use of digital tools for effective communication, professional collaboration, reflective practice and continuing professional development.

Thanks for your message.

You can access the modules by logging into TeachingEnglish, clicking/tapping the 'My Portfolio - my courses' tab. You have to follow the modules on our courses platform - you can't download the modules. You can download the course workbook from this page though - it has lots of useful links and resources to help you during and after the course.

To access the course modules, first you need to enrol in the course (click on the purple 'Enrol in this free course' button above).

Then you will see the 'My Portfolio' tab at the top of the page when you log in to TeachingEnglish Click or tap on that and then 'My courses' and the course will appear there. Then you can work through the course modules at your own pace.
