What are the self-study modules?

Module 1  Integrating digital resources

The aim of this module is to guide you through how to select appropriate digital resources for your learners. You'll evaluate the suitability of the resources for your learners and your learning objectives. You'll also adapt, modify and combine existing resources to create learning activities that are suitable to your teaching context and learners' needs, as well as plan to create learning resources with colleagues using shared digital tools and platforms.

Module 2  Digital inclusion

The aim of this module is to guide you through the main issues involved in ensuring digital inclusion. You'll identify the opportunities and limitations in your learners’ digital contexts, reflect on how your teaching strategies support differentiation and personalisation as well as consider the use of digital technologies to foster creative and critical engagement.

Module 3 Supporting learners' digital competences

The aim of this module is to guide you through the main issues involved in supporting learners as they develop their digital competences. You'll discuss teaching strategies that support your learners in developing their information literacy, identify a range of suitable tools for digital content creation in your teaching context as well as prepare an outline for a classroom task based on a problem-solving framework.

Course reviews

What have other teachers said about how Integrating digital technologies helped them?

"I learnt how to make my lesson plans more inclusive and diverse for language learners. It also helped me a lot to choose and integrate those multimodal digital tools and content which is relevant to my learners' needs and learning objectives."

Course participant, Pakistan

"In one of my recent classes, instead of following the usual end-of-unit quiz from the textbook, I applied the problem-based learning (PBL) approach from the course. I presented the task as a problem: “How can we make this review more fun and engaging using digital tools?” The students worked in groups, researched possible tools like Kahoot and Canva, and then created their own interactive review games. They loved being part of the decision-making process, and it really boosted their collaboration and problem-solving skills."

Course participant, Philippines

"One example of how I applied the knowledge from the course is by designing a collaborative digital project where my learners worked in small groups to create a multimedia presentation on an environmental issue. They used digital tools like Google Slides to combine text, images, and audio, and applied checklists to review and improve their content. This allowed them to develop both their digital literacy and critical thinking skills, while engaging with real-world topics in a meaningful way."

Course participant, Romania

The same problem as previous participants, no link to the course

Hi Saulesh,

Have you created an account on the website? You need to create an account and make sure you are logged in before you click on the 'Enrol on this course' button.

I have just tested the link and it is working and the course enrolment is active, so I think the problem may have been that you were not logged in.

Please try again and let us know if you continue to have any problem.

Thanks,

Jenny

thanks for your helpful classes.

I haven't finished the course and haven't received the certificate. Is it possible to complete or reopen access?

Hi dianavanagele

Thanks for your message.

I'm afraid all of our courses are only open for a limited time. Course start and end dates are on all the course pages on the left. If you were unable to complete the course in time, I'm afraid it's not possible to reopen it.

You can always download the course workbook - it's on the page above. It contains lots of useful links and resources related to the course content.

Hope that helps,

Cath

can you please tell me how many hours the course consists of and if this is shown on the certificate after completion.

Hi mazen.a.i

Thanks for your comment - the course lasts about 12 hours, and it is self-access, meaning you can complete the modules in your own time. When you complete all the modules, you will receive a certificate, which states that this is a 12 hour course.

Thanks.

Cath

I can't find information about how many hours long this course is and whether the certificate includes that information, since I am required to take one of these courses at my job. I have already taken another course, but it did include that info. Help please.

Hi Alifer

Thanks for your message. This course takes 9–12 hours to complete, the certificate states that the course duration is 12 hours.

Hope that helps and that you enjoy the course!
