How will the course help you?

By the end of Classroom management for primary, you'll be able to:

  • maximise opportunities for positive interaction and learning in the primary classroom
  • manage activities to include a variety of interaction patterns
  • identify and apply strategies to foster a positive and productive learning environment for primary learners.

What are the self-study modules?

Module 1 – Understanding teacher language for primary

This module has two aims: to examine the teacher's use of English and the learners' own language to maximise opportunities for positive interaction and learning in the classroom, and to explore and practise techniques for giving clear instructions when setting up activities.

Module 2 – Understanding activities and classroom space for primary

The aim of this module is to examine ways that teachers can effectively manage activities to include a variety of interaction patterns. It looks at the benefits of pair and group work, techniques for signalling the start and end of activities, and how classroom space can be used effectively.

Module 3 – Understanding classroom interaction for primary

The aim of this module is to examine how you can create a positive and productive learning environment by the way you communicate and interact with your primary learners. You will recognise how interaction styles affect the learning environment, describe different methods of monitoring and giving feedback and their benefits as well as use praise and encouragement to create a positive learning environment.

I'm about to finish the last module, do I still get a certificate is the course has "ended"?

As long we you successfully completed all the course modules you will receive a certificate. Once you have finished, you will find it under the "My awards" tab on the course platform.

How can I get a certificate? I completele all tasks and achieve a score of 80% but I can't get a certificate in my awards page

If you haven't received your certificate, can you write to the courses team directly? They should be able to help you. You can contact them by using the orange "help" button on the courses page.

Hi ,I Started with the course and finished the second unit, but it ahows that i havent done that unit.How to proceed to unit 3 now and why does it say like this?

Thanks for your comment. I've just checked your account and it is showing that Module 2 is completed - you should be able to navigate to the next unit. Can you try again to start module 3? Let us know if you are still having problems.

I am currently logged into my account. I tried to click on that “enrol on this free course” button but the page isn’t available for some reason, it says “ OOPS! SOMETHING LOOKS TO HAVE GONE WRONG
ERROR
WE ARE SORRY, BUT THE PAGE YOU REQUESTED HAS TRIGGERED AN ERROR. PLEASE TRY AGAIN LATER.” What should i do? Also i can’t find those 3 horizontal lines to get to the “MY PORTFOLIO” page, they’re just simply not there…

Certificates are available to participants who complete 100% of the course material. To access your certificate, go to the course platform where you have done your training. Click or tap 'My awards'. If you have completed 100% of the course, your certificate should be available to download. 

If you do not see your certificate, please use the 'Help' button on the course platform.

Are you talking about a different course - I checked in with your account and it doesn't show that you have completed the primary one before the close date at the end of July. Let us know if it's a different course.
