Teaching live English lessons online

Watch a recording of our webinar with Cecilia Nobre, looking at teaching live English lessons online.

Introduction

The British Council is committed to supporting the use of technology for the continuation of education in a crisis. As many teachers find themselves in an unfamiliar situation of having to teach their classes online, with little or no experience, the British Council TeachingEnglish website is committed to providing as much support as possible to help you navigate your way through the world of online teaching.

About the webinar

In this webinar, we will look at the main principles of teaching synchronous English lessons on different videoconferencing platforms and learn how to deliver interactive and effective live English lessons to adult learners. We will also discuss how we can adapt coursebooks to the digital delivery format to suit our learners' needs, both 1:1 and groups. At the end of the webinar, I will demonstrate one task that can be done in a group lesson.

Date: 25 May
