In this talk Rod Bolitho offers a comprehensive view of what constitutes CPD, and outlines the benefits such a perspective can offer to individual teachers, institutions and professional networks.

He establishes connections between CPD and reform, the management and implementation of change, with thinking skills and reflective practice. Rod also engages the audience in some reflective tasks and suggests some ways of making CPD work in practical terms, including advice for individuals, educational managers and policy makers.


Rod, thanks a lot for the talk about CPD, which is essential for a teacher. I completely agree that a teacher should or even must be a learner. I've got a lot of interesting ideas to think them over.

I like the activity: to write adjectives to describe myself as a teacher at the beginning of my career and now. It's great. Good way to analyse changes that have taken place in the career and behaviour.
Rod, I'm happy to be a participant though virtual, at the seminar. This event reminded the time when I was a real participant of the Trainer Development Scheme course in Ukraine 10 years ago and I'm grateful to the chance to be your trainee. One more thanks, Rod.
