World Teachers' Day 2022 online event: Around the world in a day

Find out more about this year's World Teachers' Day online event taking place on 1 October 2022.

World Teachers' Day

UNESCO World Teachers’ Day is held annually on 5 October to celebrate all teachers around the globe. Since 2016, British Council TeachingEnglish has run an online event on or around 5 October, providing professional development opportunities with a variety of engaging, practical and thought-provoking talks, workshops and panel discussions by teachers and teacher educators around the globe.

You can watch recordings from our previous World Teachers' Day events on the TeachingEnglish website.

World Teachers' Day 2022

This year, our World Teachers’ Day Online Conference will be a truly global event, designed to reach every teacher in every part of the world. This event will take place on Saturday 1 October, starting in Vietnam at 03.00am UK time and ending in Mexico at 22.00pm UK time, offering 19 hours of online professional development.

As with previous years, British Council TeachingEnglish will be hosting a series of talks, workshops and panel discussions. This year our theme is ‘'Teachers at the centre of a changing world'.

This unique online event will move around the globe with sessions happening in different time zones during the day. Starting in Vietnam and ending in Mexico, we aim to provide teachers around the world with opportunities to attend the event in their own time zone and share ideas with teachers in their region and around the world.

Register for the whole event and choose from more than 20 sessions to attend.
