Whose Face Do You See?

There are two voices in this story, set around a coma patient's bed in a hospital. One is perplexed and the other is full of concern.

More counterpoint than dialogue, the two voices gradually find resolution and a meeting place. The resource kit made around Melvin Burgess’s story was revised in 2014.

About this BritLit kit
The original kit for this story was written by a group of Portuguese teachers of English who first came together during a NILE course in Norwich in 2004 and who, as a result, first produced the 'Visiting Time' BritLit kit in 2005. The original 'Whose face..?' kit was their second joint project in 2006.

This is an amazing story My students really liked it We even cried to it. Anyway, it was well a constructed story, full of arguments to discuss and a very strong message to deliver. Thank you again...

I used the material with 16 year olds- it proved really engaging and gave us the chance to practise the four skills around an interesting topic - food for thought- thank you!
