Teaching Humans

Johanna Stirling presents some common human characteristics and how they affect learning and classroom behaviour. January 2014, London.

The theme of this interactive seminar is common human characteristics and how teachers can work with them rather than fight against them. The world over we find people who are inquisitive but easily distracted, competitive yet lacking in self-control, needing to be part of a group whilst also needing to show individuality. The presenter will look at human traits such as these in terms of learners – how they affect learning and classroom behaviour.

Johanna Stirling is a freelance ELT consultant and NILE Associate Trainer. She writes for CUP and has self-published the award-winning Teaching Spelling to English Language Learners. But what she loves most is working with humans - whether learners, teachers or colleagues.
