This lesson plan for teachers of teenage and adult students at level B1 is based on the theme of neighbours. Students will develop their vocabulary and fluency through a range of speaking activities.

Introduction

Neutral topics tend to revolve around everyday things, but do give everybody chance to talk. And after all, you can make anything interesting if you try. This speaking lesson is all about neighbours - something nearly all students will be familiar with.

Topic: Neighbours

Level: B1+ (can be adapted)

Timing: up to two hours

Aims: 

  • develop fluency through a range of speaking activities
  • introduce related vocabulary
