Language and social cohesion in the developing world
It is published jointly by British Council and GIZ Sri Lanka and edited by Hywel Coleman. The book looks at the role of language in social cohesion in many parts of the world, including India, Nepal, Pakistan, the Philippine, Rwanda, Tanzania and Timor Leste, while six chapters deal with the specific case of Sri Lanka. The volume makes a significant contribution to the important and ever growing field of language and development. It will be of particular interest to language policy makers, educationalists, and development specialists.
