Language Rich Africa policy dialogue - The Cape Town language and development conference: Looking beyond 2015

This publication draws together papers presented at the 10th International Language and Development Conference.

In October 2013, the British Council hosted the tenth International Language and Development Conference, which coincided with reviews of progress worldwide towards the 2015 UN Millennium Development Goals (MDGs).

This collection is drawn from papers and presentations delivered at the three day event. The writers look at African languages, varieties of English and other languages from policy level to practical application in the classroom, and in the home and wider community.

Note: This publication is a series of conference papers and we have added some relevant additional references not cited in the text for readers to access.

You can download this publication in pdf format below. We have also made the sections available as separate pdfs.
