Improving reading comprehension for learners with dyslexia

This webinar explores some of the learner’s difficulties with reading and suggests practical strategies and techniques for teachers who want to support struggling readers and improve their reading comprehension.

About the webinar

When faced with a text and expected to extract information, a learner with dyslexia may well see an impossible task. This webinar will explore some of the learner’s difficulties and suggest practical strategies and techniques for teachers who want to support struggling readers and improve their reading comprehension.

Emerging readers learn to read but the ultimate aim for all learners is that they will read to learn. This webinar will explore some of the reasons – apart from decoding difficulties - why this is a struggle for learners with dyslexia and suggest practical ways in which teachers can help struggling readers to approach a text and to extract the necessary information.

The techniques will be immediately applicable and can be adapted to suit different age levels and language abilities. Through their use, the learner should be able to approach text with practical tools and with more confidence.
