IATEFL YLTSIG 2020 Online Conference

Places are filling quickly for the IATEFL YLTSIG 2020 web conference. Whilst the theme ‘Ages, life stages and educational spaces’ is aimed at supporting early career teachers, all English teaching professionals are welcome. The line-up includes six plenaries, seven inspire sessions and 19 shorter talks. Sessions will take place over three days: 27-29 November, 12.00 midday to 20.00 UTC. The event is free of charge for all participants and you can find out more on the web conference page.
LGBTQI+ Quiz for English Teachers
Stonewall 2020 Lesbian Role Model of the Year, Laila El-Metoui will be hosting a highly interactive quiz during the IATEFL YLTSIG Web Conference on 28 November at 19.30 UTC. The aim of this quiz is to raise awareness of TEYL activities for LGBTQI+ inclusion and belonging.
Ask the experts Open Forum
This interactive forum will place during the IATEFL YLTSIG Web Conference on Sunday 29 November at 13.05 UTC. The expert panel will be answering questions on:
- managing challenging behaviour
- children’s and teenagers’ own languages in ELT
- assessment for learning
- creative TEYL approaches
Certified mini courses – final places remaining
Running alongside the web conference are three 6-hour closed group courses with very few spaces remaining. Personalised certificates will be issued and the options are:
A: Practical drama in the YL ELT classroom, facilitated by Laura McWilliams
B: Using picturebooks in primary English language teaching, facilitated by The PEPELT Team
C: Reaching and teaching teenagers in ELT, facilitated by Leticia Moraes
