This activity provides short listening practice based around a phone call to a hotel to enquire about reservations.

Derek Spafford

In this lesson, students will listen to someone booking a hotel. They will predict vocabulary, listen to the conversation and role-play the dialogue to practise their speaking skills. There are also suggestions for developing the theme of hotels to practise specific areas of grammar.

  • To practise listening skills
  • To improve students’ vocabulary and speaking skills

Hi Is there a way to download the audio clip? internet is not always available in the classrooms. So being able to download the audio will make it easier to use.

it is not possible to click on the Audio mp3 link in order to listen to the text. How do you activate the link?

Hi Claire To listen to the audio, you just need to click on the 'Play' icon on the audio. If you want to save the audio you can right click anywhere on the black audio bar and you will be able to save it to your computer. Let me know if you are still having problems. Thanks, Cath
