About the research grant

This is to announce the launch of a call for applications for a grant of up to £100,000 to support research examining gender and English as a medium of education (EME) in low and middle income contexts.

The deadline for receipt of applications is 10th December 2021.

Application guidelines

Applications are invited from any person resident in the UK with an affiliation to a UK higher education institution. Although the applicant must be resident in the UK, the research may, in whole or in part, take place outside of the UK or by persons not resident in the UK. We welcome applications from cross-disciplinary research teams.

Both forms should be completed and returned to ann.veitch@britishccouncil.org  by 10th December 2021.

Frequently asked questions

What is the start date and end date of the research?

The start date is January or February 2022. This is dependent on how quickly a contract is agreed and the grant paid. Final report is likely to be due in March 2023 (although there is flexibility around this depending on the project).
