Face-to-Face storytelling: Freedom to share physical and sensory space

Watch a recording of our second webinar with David Heathfield, looking at storytelling in face-to-face teaching.

About the webinar

As we prepare to return to face-to-face teaching, how can we make the most of the space we physically share with our students? In this webinar let's explore opportunities storytelling gives us to playfully adapt the physical space we share inside our classroom as well as in larger indoor and outdoor spaces. We'll consider how we can bring sensory features such as touch, smell, taste and movement into storytelling as well as sound and vision. I will share purposeful storytelling activities designed to get students moving and talking freely. This is a practical webinar about giving learners opportunities to invent, to rehearse and to perform as they learn creatively together within a supportive, confidence-building framework.

The webinar will focus on telling tales from the world’s oral cultures. Participants will come away with practical storytelling techniques and activities which generate positive energy and develop oral communication skills.

Recorded on 11 March 2021
