Introduction

2016 marks the 400th anniversary of Shakespeare’s death. LearnEnglish Teens has developed a series of short animated videos about five of Shakespeare’s best-loved plays; Hamlet, Macbeth, Much Ado About Nothing, Romeo and Juliet and The Tempest.

This series of extension activities is designed to be used alongside our Shakespeare lesson plans for teens. They can be used as an alternative to the activities in the lesson plans, or as additional follow up tasks. The activities address some of the core themes of the plays and encourage students to explore them further.
