British Council India - Master trainer teaching tips posters

Download a series of six Top Tips posters designed by Master Trainers based in India.

As part of a three-year project between British Council India and Rashtriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyan (RMSA) Punjab to develop the English language teaching skills and language confidence of secondary level English language teachers in government schools across the state of Punjab, 200 Master Trainers were invited to take part in a competition to design a poster under one of three specific themes.

  • Top tips for developing speaking skills
  • Top tips for developing reading skills
  • Top tips for presenting and practising vocabulary

Four winners received an all-expenses paid opportunity to attend the Hornby Regional School held in August 2014 in Sri Lanka. The Master Trainers who won this exciting reward were:

Rajneesh Goyal, Mansa
Dharam Jit Singh, Ferozepur
Sushma Sharma, Jallandhar
Sumeet Kaur, Hoshiarpur

In addition to the work of these four winners, two additional posters were selected. These were made by:

Rosy Mehta, Ferozepur
Vidhya Sagar, Pathankot

All six posters were professionally designed, staying true to the vision of the original creators, printed, distributed to and displayed in secondary schools across Punjab, to help further inform teachers about learner centred teaching practices.
