Using social networks and media to support our continuing professional development

Watch a recording of this webinar with Ann Foreman about using social networks for professional development.

About the webinar

Many teachers have found that social networks and media can provide valuable support for their continuing professional development. However, knowing where to start can be a problem. Facebook, Twitter and the blogosphere aren't always easy places to move in and it's easy to feel overwhelmed by the multitude of posts that appear and disappear in rapid succession. How can we make sense of them and identify the people we can most learn from? How do we set ourselves goals and keep track of where we're going? Recorded in 2011, this webinar considers practical ways of centring and organising ourselves to make the process a little less chaotic.

Volume is all over the place too quiet for Ann a lot of the time, ear-popping for Rob. The two presenters talk over each other without realizing it. Technical quality leaves a lot to be desired.

Could these recordings be made available for download, please?

Hi Blurges

Thanks for your comment, though sorry you don't find it technically good.

You're absolutely right that sound quality was not great with this one... you don't hear the intro in the recording, but what I usually point out is that this current series of webinars is a trial for us to see what works and what doesn't. We're learning quite quickly, and I'm confident we're already dealing with these kind of issues that you mention. If you're looking for something similar which has better technical quality, I'd recommend the Seminars section of our website: http://www.teachingenglish.org.uk/seminars

We're not going to make these available for download just yet, though do check again in future.

Best wishes

Rob
