Adriana de los Santos, Alicia Artusi: CPD wheel in remote teaching

In this talk, Adriana and Alicia look at the Plan Ceibal project and key skills teachers need to deliver remote teaching.

Plan Ceibal English is a re-conception of blended learning models implemented in Uruguay and project managed by the British Council. It’s a blended learning project implemented in primary school 4th-6th grades with a unique characteristic which is that the face- to- face class is delivered by a class teacher who is not an EFL expert- but works in partnership with the EFL expert, the remote teacher- to teach English to over 3300 classes in Uruguay.

In this session the presenters show which areas of the Teaching for Success CPD framework have proved to be key in the delivery of a good remote lesson.

  • Brief Presentation of Plan Ceibal English
  • Presentation of CPD framework applied to remote teaching
  • Key skills and knowledge for effective remote teaching.
  • Final reflection (to be done with the audience) on areas for remote teacher training.
