I remember when I first read the book action plan. It was in 2005-2006, my first year as an English language teacher. I still remember comparing the lesson plan to the trip. You may enjoy the trip without a plan, but you will not know exactly where you are going, you are just a drifter. The same thing can be said about a lesson. You may improvise and succeed at times. However, your lessons needs to be well planned. The lesson plan boosts the teacher's self confidence. The teacher knows what they are doing. The teacher anticipates and prepares for unexpected problems. The teacher is more systematic. I recommend the book to every teacher, novice and experienced.
