The roots of improvisation
Ken Wilson is a trainer and ELT author who believes that a classroom approach which includes opportunities for improvisation and creativity is hugely beneficial to both teachers and students. When students embark on these flights of creativity, the rest of the class watch with enormous concentration, as people do when they are watching their favourite comedian, or a comic actor in a movie.

Getting students to listen to each other is often hard, but not when you are playing games like these. Read more by downloading Ken's article.

Ken Wilson is currently compiling a book of his own drama and improvisation activities, which will be published by Oxford University Press.

I think this is great when it comes to trying to help students to learn more.

Ken Wilson is really a blast! Not only are his coursebooks amazing to work with but it seems that the ideas that can come out of his mind bear astounding surprises too!

As I was reading the article, I thought that his ingenuity was definitely proved by the games Experts. The students are in fact asked to produce at word level but their capacity is tested above sentence level. How good is that?

I'm dying to bring it to the classroom and see how much fun my students will have with it.

Thanks for such a brilliant article!

Best,
