TeachingEnglish - TKT Essentials provides teachers of English with a course in the classroom knowledge they need.

This product consists of face-to-face and online courses to support teachers looking to take the Cambridge Teaching Knowledge Test. The material is organised in three modules. If you are not familiar with TKT, you can find comprehensive information about the exam as well as sample tests, resources and a TKT glossary on the Cambridge ESOL website.

Face-to-face course
The TE – TKT Essentials face-to-face course comprises three modules, divided into a total of 34 units, each of approximately 90 mins:

• Module 1 - Language and background to language learning and teaching (18 units)
• Module 2 - Lesson planning and use of resources for language teaching (9 units)
• Module 3 - Managing the teaching and learning process (7 units)

Each unit consists of trainer notes and participant worksheets.

Online course
The online course comprises three modules divided into a total of 33 units varying in length between 90 and 180 minutes

• Module 1 - Language and background to language learning and teaching (18 units)
• Module 2 - Lesson planning and use of resources for language teaching (8 units)
• Module 3 - Managing the teaching and learning process (7 units)

Each unit consists of:

• a set of moderated, interactive online activities using Moodle (a web–based environment for delivering course content and managing students)
• trainer notes in pdf.

There is also a Trainer Guide to give trainers advice on how to set up the course, manage training, use the Trainers Notes and provide effective online moderation.
