      CLIL Essentials (face-to-face)

      A face-to-face course about teaching other subjects in English.

      Teaching English – Content and Language Integrated Learning Essentials (face-to-face) is a course for English and content teachers who teach other subjects in English.

      In this very practical course, teachers learn to break down the challenging tasks associated with teaching content in a foreign language and integrate English as a Foreign Language (EFL) methodology with their existing skills and subject knowledge.

      The CLIL Essentials face-to-face course comprises of 20 units, each approximately 120 minutes long. Three of these units are available for free to download as workshops. The workshop materials contain full trainer notes and participant worksheets. You must be logged in to download the materials.

      The full course covers the following areas:

      1. Aims of and rationale for CLIL
      2. Language across the curriculum
      3. Communication skills across the curriculum (free sample below)
      4. Cognitive skills across the curriculum
      5. Learning skills across the curriculum
      6. Assessment unit - Principles of CLIL
      7. Planning a lesson and a series of lessons
      8. Language demands of subject content and accompanying tasks
      9. Resources
      10. Integrating technology in the curriculum
      11. Materials selection and adaptation (free sample below)
      12. Task types
      13. Classroom language
      14. Scaffolding content and language learning (free sample below)
      15. Methods to help students develop learning strategies
      16. Consolidating learning and differentiation
      17. Focus on assessment
      18. Types of assessment
      19. Support strategies
      20. Assessment unit - Classroom practice

      As well as a providing practical training, this syllabus will support teachers looking to take the Cambridge ESOL Teaching Knowledge Test CLIL module (TKT: CLIL). If you are not familiar with TKT: CLIL, you can find comprehensive information about the exam as well as sample tests, resources and a TKT: CLIL glossary on the Cambridge ESOL website .

      Teachers can experience the online version of the course by taking sample units from the online course.

      The full course may be available through your local British Council. Contact your local British Council to see if this course is available.

      Shalom. Its a great opportunity for the English learners all across the world to know RSE [Received Standard English] as we know the most original spoken in early century . Its an honour if The British council - Teaching English providing some free download stuff especially the MP3 or Audio ; easilly to learn the RSE pronunciation.
