The British Council and Instituto Cervantes have officially launched 'Word for Word, Palabra por Palabra', a joint publication on the social, political and economic impact of English and Spanish in the world. During the launch event there was a lively exchange of ideas and experience on the impact of two of the world's major international languages.

It was also an opportunity to share some of the findings of research into the position of Spanish and English in the world today - their value, importance and role in facilitating dialogue, trade and economic and educational activity.
