It is a fact that English is one of the most difficult languages to master . The world famous linguist and German scholar said  'English spelling is a national misfortune to England and an international misfortune to the rest of the world’. The Americans have slightly succeeded in simplifying its spelling Since English is an un-phonetic language its pronunciation poses not only innumerable difficulties to nonnative speakers but also native speakers. The received pronunciation seems to be an utopia. Who believes that the words ’sweet and suite' are pronounced alike? If we pronounce the word suite correctly in India most receptionists do not understand what we want. English grammar, syntax, spelling, pronunciation, morphology and what not everything causes lots of problems to learners especially learners as a second or foreign language. However, everybody should learn it whether they like it or not because only English can truly be called a global language
