Extensive Reading Foundation Reception and Awards Ceremony at IATEFL Glasgow 2012

The annual ERF Reception and Awards Ceremony will take place in the Clyde Auditorium at IATEFL Glasgow on Wednesday 21st March 18.45-19.45. The event is sponsored by IATEFL, the British Council, and major publishers, and is hosted by Jeremy Harmer. Certificates will be presented to the winners of the five categories (Young Learners, Adolescent and Adult: Beginner, Elementary, Intermediate, Upper-intermediate and Advanced) and the finalists in this year’s competition will be announced. A lifetime achievement award, the John Milne Innovation Award, will be presented to Robert O’Neill.

The Language Learner Literature Awards for graded readers in English were established by the Extensive Reading Foundation, a not-for-profit organization, in 2004. The Awards are annual and aim to support the development of language learner literature in English, and to encourage extensive reading in language education. The awards are conferred each year on books that are selected for their outstanding overall quality and likely enduring appeal. An international jury makes the final choices, taking into account the Internet votes of students, teachers and others from around the world.
