Learners writing on the board
Submitted by TE Editor on 16 March, 2009 - 10:55
I like learners to write on the board but I try to be careful with this because there are dangers. I always do this activity when learners are in groups so I can give a pen to the group, not individuals, so there is no pressure on anybody. In addition, discussion of what people write on the board is limited to content, not the quality of language. My learners do not like being criticized in an open group. By Paul Kaye

My learners like to write and draw on the board. They want to spend more time on the board. When I do activities where I am asking individuals come to the board I don't pressure on students who are not willing to go to the board. Mostly they hesitate to come not because of that they are scared, they are just not ready at that time. I just tell them think about that I come back to you or raise your hand when you are ready.
