Well, I voted for myself but it didn't count. Then I cancelled it and voted for a friend and it counted. How comes?
How serious is this?
I hope the British Council does not accept votes from users who have not confirmed their registrations? I also hope the voters are confirmed as Teachers! If this is an open vote to the public then the blogathon was clearly a hoax. A teacher of adult students at a "dershane" or similar company could simply ask his students in class to vote for him! Or, is this a competition to see how many followers (from a private blog outside of this site), friends or colleagues a blogger has? I sincerely hope this vote is only going to be one of the things the jury considers when they select a winner. The quality of the blogs themselves should be the most important thing!

This is really getting interesting. I'm sure BC jury will choose after checking out the blogs one by one and then decide. Like Bülent told, people with more 'friends' here around may get more votes and some others who have quality blog posts and who are good readers may not. That would be unfair but as I told I'm sure the jury will count that. Let's see what happens :) Good luck everyone!
Sorry to hear that crystalheart. I have no explanation at the moment unfortunately :( I've been testing it today to check, and it's been OK - I'll keep on checking to see if I can find an answer.
Best wishes
Rob

Dear Colleagues,
The poll gives the blog readers a chance to share their opinions.
And of course the final decision will be made by the judges who are very experienced in the field.
Dear Şirin,
I can understand why my friends are so concerned as they contributed enthusiastically to the marathon with their posts
The news that the final decision will be given by the jury is a great relief because we, the blogathon runners , really liked this opportunity ad enjoyed the ru. We tried to share the best we can do and as far as I can see there will be really good bloggers coming to blogathosphere and the one who deserves to win will get the biggest applause from her/his fellow blogathon bloggers.
Eva
Dear Bloggers
I believe British Council has a professional team to assess us.
Why did you feel yourself bad I really didn't understand. I can't say anything about winner of the poll but I know
coffeeaddict and I wrote regularly and we tried to share links and tips.
No one can critisize us.
Thank you all of your supports.
Thanks to British Council I learned many usefull ideas with the assist of blogger friends.
Take care
Ayşegül
Hello,
Thanks for everyone who supported me. I hope my materials and teaching experiences would be useful for my colleagues. Both of you know that I have my own web site which I share my materials. Maybe that was an advantage for me, maybe disadvantage... I couldn't spare much time on writing because I was busy with preparing new materials. Sorry about that. Still I'm happy to see that there are people who believe in me and appreciate my works. I want to thank all the people who read my posts and spend some time to write comments. I'm sure that both of you are good teachers. Our biggest prize is the students we educate. They will be our future and this is our heritage.
Have a nice day,
Fatma Akdeniz
Hi everyone
It's been great having you all writing on TeachingEnglish over the last month - the most activity I can remember on this site for a long time. I'd like to say thanks very much to every one of you for sharing your enthusiasm with each other and readers from all over the world here.
I'd also like to say sorry to those of you listed above because, as some of you have seen, the poll on this page has had a lot of technical problems. I received some emails this afternoon from some of you explaining what was happening. It's too late to fix it now, unfortunately, as the poll was due to close this evening, so I can only offer you my apologies.
Thanks again for all your efforts, good luck with the competition, and also with the blogs that many of you are planning to set up soon!
Rob
Dear Ayşegül,
Don't worry we are not complaining because you and Coffeeaddict have most of the votes . The problem I guess was with some technical problems of the poll because some colleagues told me they voted but couldn't see their votes counted and they were registerd users.
I respect all the bloggers who contributed and dis their best but Karin also has some concerns see here: http://www.teachingenglish.org.uk/blogs/britishcouncilturkey/elt-blogathon-great-end#comment-14015
I will repeat again this was a great opportunity for all of us to improve ourselves, I wrote and mentioned many times that the whole event was like a 4 week professional development course.
Good luck to all the fellow bloggers.
