With the growth of availability of English language video through Internet and satellite TV, this has become an increasingly useful classroom resource. Do you use video in your classroom?

Hi,
Video, video, video. An interesting tool I often use in my classroom. It helps motivate learners learn the language. They no longer feel the monotony of the conventional traditional lesson. It is somehow sort of break. Both visually and auditory oriented learners are catered for. Video can be best exploited in the classroom to generate discussion (Ss practice speaking), vocabulary and grammar. I had a nice experience with my students using video in the classroom. Students may watch a video clip for instance without any voice. They may be asked to predict what the video will be about. The teacher is to encourage students to speak in class and study the images, actions and scenes. Students may also be required to discuss the vocabulary used, structures and anything the teacher thinks important. It is a good listening practice, right? It also helps make teaching easier. Because everyone, teacher and students, are enjoying the video time passes so quickly.
Thank you
The video in the classroom can be a tool to listen and learn the culture of a particular country that speaks that language that is being taught.
In addition to providing happy to learn there are many display and sounds. Too bad public schools in Brazil do not have conditions to use many times.
Thanks!
