Hi Becky
I'm glad it worked well. Thanks for writing in! Jo.
Hi Jo
I have seen many of your works on this site, and am very inspired by them.
I am having my first full day teaching on 2 Nov to intermediate class who will be doing the Cambridge PET exam.
Do you think to bog the students down with writing eg short essay will be too much for a one day teach?
I thought to concentrate on conversation, with games more appropriate, hence reading up on your games.
Any other ideas would help... first teaching lesson nerves that I wont be prepared enough or will run out of times given is a scary thought !
Kind regards and thanks
Fiona

Hi Fiona
Here’s an article by Jo with lots of practical ideas for new teachers (and Language Assistants) on what to include in the first class:
http://www.teachingenglish.org.uk/language-assistant/teaching-tips/the-first-class
You’ll find advice on writing activities for the first class at the end of the article.
Good luck and have fun!
Sally
