This lesson takes a light-hearted look at money and magazines. Students invent their extremely wealthy future selves and then take turns to be journalists interviewing and writing for 'Rich!!' magazine.

Age: Teenage/adult

Level: A2/B1

Timing: 60-90 mins

Aims:

  • To help students use their imaginations to build up a fictitious character
  • To develop students' ability to use a variety of question forms and tenses
  • To develop students' communication skills
  • To develop students' writing skills

I have used it in my class. My students like it a lot. They especilally like interviewing part. Talking aboout their future, being rich was fun for them. They always like to talk about personal things.

This lesson plan is really first-rate for teenagers.my students enjoyed this lesson very much.In my opinion, nearly all students like imaginng their future life,being extreemly well off,discussing bad and good sides of being rich.This topic encouraged the students to practise their speaking

This was a great lesson but I need to add a oral component.

So, I had my students make a podcast of the article they made with Worksheet 3. I guess I couls have had them record the interview as well, but this way they a had time to practice before recording.
