      OPENCities – Lesson 4: Settling down in a new country

      Topic: Adjusting to a new environment

      Level: Intermediate +

      Aims:

      • To develop students’ skills communication skills
      • To develop students’ vocabulary around the topic of adjustment  and culture
      • To help students understand some of the issues and opportunities involved in moving to a new country


      Introduction
      This lesson plan explores some of the issues associated with cultural and environmental adjustments and looks at some of the ways in which these have impacted on the lives of migrants in different cities and countries. This is a strong underlying theme of the OPENCities project www.opencities.eu
