Working with children

Working with children can be exciting taking into account their energy levels. At the same time it may become mundane for the kids if new techniques are not applied to teach the same topic. How can this be achieved?

great question. actually my issue with children is to make them stop shouting and misbehaving in general. i really don't know how to do that.
I believe that integrated skills (RLWS) activites are a great way to do so. Something that they (children) have to run and tell to their friends, and afterwards write a little report on the paragraph they´ve just read will help to keep them focused.
Of course the topic has to be of their interest (cartoons, super heroes, colors, shapes, numbers, Jonas Brothers,...) and at the proper level.

I'd recommend using lots of different activities and activity types in each lesson. Get their attention by having students focus on you and follow some simple instructions with actions - 'Everyone put your hands on your head, put your hands on your ears and listen.' Do some activities that let them make noise and let off steam such as run and touch flash cards stuck around the room. Then do a calming activitity like a word search or matching task. There are loads of ideas and materials (printable and online) for teaching children on LearnEnglish Kids. Here's the link for some Christmas ideas: http://www.teachingenglish.org.uk/try/teaching-kids/christmas
Did any of the methods mentioned become successful?
