TEFL interview before course admission

Hi Everyone,
Im about to start a course for TEFL qualification, but before I can start it, the tutor is going to interview me before offering a place. I would like to know if you can give me some tips and hints how I can manage the interview succefully, because I really really would like to teach English to adults.

Dear N.,
I can understand that you are a bit nervous about your interview, but there is no need to worry. I would suggest that you try to anticipate the questions you will be ask and rehearse what your answers are going to be. For example:
Why do you want to do this course?
What makes you think you would like to teach English?
Have you ever had any experience in teaching? (even just one person something would count!)
What do you think makes for a good teacher? (There are lots of threads on this site discussing this!)
How have you been improving your English recently?
Perhaps other users will think of some more examples!

From what I remember from my pre-Cert. TESOL Course interview, there were some questions about language, about what I might do in various (classroom) situations, etc. And I think Diana's suggestion of anticipating these kinds of questions is the best one! But don't forget that they won't expect you to know everything! That's why you're going to do the course - to learn things! I'd say a good tactic is also to know & be able to tell the interview where you would look to find the answers to certain questions that you can't answer right now by yourself. This way, you'll show an awareness of & familiarity with the kinds of resources that are out there, and your willingness to learn!
