      Teaching third person verb tense

      Can you tell me what technique I could use to teach students do not forget the ss sound at the end of  third person verbs?  How can I help them?

      And I think that it is depending on the age. Because If you have younger students, maybe you should use visual material and try to speak with  them for exmple describing a picture. There is no a law at least in my short experience which tells you what you must do. My advice is to think which would be the best way that you could learn if you were in their shoes.

      But as we are teaching a language for me the most important thing is to speak so if you motivate them t speak and use the topic in a funny way they won't forget.

      If your students know about the -s ending but forget to use it, try drawing a big colourful S on a big piece of paper - or get them to do it. Post it on the wall where everyone can see it. Just point at it whenever they forget the -s ending so that they can correct themselves. I found a big improvement after a few days.

      I agree with Vallence and his suggestion. You'll find students correct each other as well by pointing to picture. Alternatively you could draw an 'S' on the palm of your hand and flash it everytime they forget. After a while you can remove the 's' and just flash the palm of your hand.

      I generally teach a kind of a game in the class after teaching  when we use "s" . ı want to share my game with you. it also works with crowded classes and misbehaved students. First tell students prepare some small cards at home ( as a homework) they write on the cards subjects ( ı, he, she ) , and then they write the verbs that they have learnt  before with "s" and without s" ( like / likes/ swim/swims...) and at last they write objects (at home, in the classroom, an apple...) At the end in the class you want your students lay the cards on their desks and make as many sentences as they can. the student who has made the most sentence is the winner!
